Facilities - MICA Laboratory
The Midinfrared Imaging Characterization and Application (MICA) lab facilitates the testing of infrared focal plane arrays that are grown and fabricated at CHTM. It has a calibrated radiometry measurement set up to determine the signal to noise ratio of single pixel devices and FPAs. The MICA lab is a good draw for visitors ranging from program managers to high school students, as it showcases infrared imaging using quantum dots in a well cameras, which provides a temperature profile of a given scene.
The lab was recently featured in an article in the Santa Fe New Mexican, which you can read here.
