ECE 575: Junction Devices - How this course works

(click here to check the ECE 575: Syllabus)

This course moves back to the classroom this semester but will also use WebCT technology - check out the WebCT website (especially the "student tour") for a good introduction to the various WebCT components. The focus of this course has also evolved and we will now cover heterojunction bipolar and modulation doped transistors (check the new ECE 575: Syllabus).

After you have registered please check the WebCT course website for late-breaking information.

Face-to-face parts of this course (this is where we meet in person)

Class Lectures: This class meets Tuesday and Thursday, 11.00 - 12.15 in room 103 at CHTM.

Office Hours: I will hold office hours (by appointment) for one-on-one or small groups.

Exams:There will be a midterm and a final exam for this course in a traditional classroom setting. (The dates and locations will be arranged later and posted in the on line CALENDAR).

I use a particular style of exam that tests your knowledge of concepts rather than how well you can remember equations. I will provide the equations (except the most basic equations) and test your understanding of how they are used and what they really mean.

If you'd like to see an example of this exam style download a previous EECE 575 exam.
