Technical Overview. This is a new project in which we are investigating the growth and fabrication of thermophotovoltaic devices on GaAs substrates using metamorphic InAlAs layers. This work was initiated by my graduate student, Fred Newmann, who is presently working full time at Emcore Inc. We have obtained some encouraging preliminary results that we plan to use to obtain external funding for this project.
