Daniel Feezell

Congratulations are in order!

Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM) Associate Professor Daniel Feezell has been selected to become the next School of Engineering UNM Regents’ Lecturer. Regents’ Lecturer is a special title bestowed on selected tenured junior faculty members who, in the judgement of the Dean and on the advice of a faculty selection committee, merit recognition of their accomplishments as teachers, scholars, and leaders both in university affairs and in their national/international professional communities.

There are only two such awards available in the School of Engineering at any given time, so the award represents a singular honor. Professor Feezell has been active in III-V semiconductor materials and device research for 20 years, including crystal growth, device fabrication, and materials and device characterization. The research interests of his group include group III-nitride materials and devices, specifically nonpolar and semipolar orientations, solid-state lighting, high-efficiency and high-speed LEDs, visible and ultraviolet edge-emitting and vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), wide-bandgap power electronic devices, and semiconductor device physics.
